Lavender Brown, 7th Year, Gryffindor, Well hello all!!! Lavender here! My life is a little complicated at the moment but I have a wonderful fiance who is helping me get through it. I've been through a lot and I'm sure I'll go through much more, but I'm the happiest that I could ever be right now and I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life. Feel free to send me an owl though, I don't bite! *this is a roleplaying account

He still seemed a bit unsure and Lavender bit the inside of her lip, her hand still tracing a pattern on his chest. Perhaps he needed time to accept everything that had happened to them, she wasn’t really sure, she was just grateful to have him speaking to her again. She…

A small smile found its way to her lips as she laid there, thinking that he very well wouldn’t forget it, he had started all of it. If he hadn’t of kissed her….well she probably would have kissed him anyway that night, but she wasn’t going to let him know that. That was their first time together, really together, and she had felt so at peace that night, perhaps the last true night of peace that they had ever had. She was ready for more nights like that, a whole future full of them with him and she rolled back onto her side to look at him, her head resting on her arm. “I’m sure you don’t regret it since you started it by kissing me,”she said with a smile, poking him in the ribs with her free hand. “Stubborn Irishman, always so persistant.”

Seamus listened quietly as Lavender spoke. It helped ease his nerves. She was so sure of everything and that was brilliant. Half the time he didn’t even know what he’d be doing in an hour let alone in a year.

“No war?” Seamus repeated. “Sounds bloody brilliant if ya ask me.”

He couldn’t help but think she was a bit hopeful in the rest, but he knew they needed hope. They desperately needed hope after everything they’d been through. So far they’d had luck on their side and Seamus was counting on it again. He’d have called himself daft a few years ago when he’d joined Dumbledore’s Army if he’d been told that someday he’d be calling what all that had happened lucky.

Now he knew that no matter what happened, if you were alive it was the best kind of luck.

He still seemed a bit unsure and Lavender bit the inside of her lip, her hand still tracing a pattern on his chest. Perhaps he needed time to accept everything that had happened to them, she wasn’t really sure, she was just grateful to have him speaking to her again. She had missed him terribly, each night wondering if he would come to her room or if he had decided to break off  their engagement. Those nights were the hardest, wondering if she was going to have to give the ring back to him because he would come to tell her, or if she would give it back on her own accord. She just wanted him to be happy.

"Have a little faith Shay, its near Christmas after all,"she said softly, her hand leaving his chest as she rolled onto her back and stared up at the ceiling. Christmas was when everything happened for the both of them, and she remembered that night, and the pain that it had brought both of them. She didn’t regret it, but she sometimes wondered where she would have been if she hadn’t of invited him over. She might not even of had the band on her finger if she hadn’t of. "Do you remember our first Christmas?"she asked suddenly, her hand coming up to touch the necklace that hung at her throat, the one that he gave her then.

Lavender was surprised by the suddenness of the kiss, so much so that she did not respond as well as she would have liked. When he pulled away she looked up at him, nibbling on her bottom lip before she hesitantly brought her hands up to cup his face and brought his lips back to hers.

She kissed him slowly, as if she wasn’t sure when he would disappear again, her lips moving against his gently but with a sense of urgency. Her fingers slid into his hair and she tugged on it lightly, letting her actions speak for her. After a few moments she pulled away slightly, her heart fluttering in her chest as she opened her eyes. “Please do not stay away that long again, I did not know what to do without you,”she said softly against his lips, her nose brushing his. “If we are going to get married we have to talk about things, not get angry and avoid the issue. But that’s behind us now…..right now, I just want to enjoy being with you.”

“You’d be brilliant without me you know,” Seamus said, pressing his forehead against hers. He knew it was true even if she didn’t. Thankfully she could be just as brilliant with him. Seamus pulled away and sat next to her for a moment before just lying back onto the bed.

The feeling of her lips lingered on his and it was a good feeling. He turned his head to look at her.

“I wonder what it’ll be like when we leave ‘ere.” Seamus wondered. “I mean it’s all fun and such, bein’ in school fer most out lives but once we’re done do ya think we’ll do alright?”

“I highly doubt that,”she said with a chuckle, turning as he sat beside her before laying back on the bed. Looking down at him, she listened to his thought, thinking that it was a good question and one that she had thought about often while he was away from her. What would they be like outside of school? It would be different to say the least and perhaps a bit scary, but no less rewarding she thought. They would be able to really plan their life together, what they wanted for the future and perhaps the family that they may have. She smiled gently at him and laid down on her side, propping herself up on her elbow and laying a hand across his chest. “It will be no different then what we have been through before Shay, except this time there will be no war, no distractions, no accidents, no fears. Just us and whatever we want to do with our lives,”she said softly, tracing small patterns on his chest. “I think if we can live together at the Hogshead and here, then we can definitely make it outside of school.” She grinned down at him, hoping to ease his worries.

Lavender squeezed his hand as they moved through the halls, not wanting to let go now that they finally alright again, for the most part. “I was more worried that you could have died Shay….but it is over now,”she said with a glance at him before they stopped in front of the portrait hole and said the password before climbing in, Seamus in tow. She ignored some of the looks that they got as she pulled him through the common room and up the stairs, anxious to finally be alone with just him.

Once in her room she dropped her bag on the floor, sitting down hesitantly on her bed. She was suddenly unsure what to do, it being so long since he had actually been in here with her. It was getting close to Christmas now, and it had been many weeks since he had last been there with her. “This room is much nicer when you are here with me,”she said with a small smile.

Seamus didn’t fail to notice that Lavender was still getting looks. She was certainly dealing with them better, ignoring them. He was glad of that. Seamus set his bag down as well and shucked off his robe, letting it fall onto his book bag once they were in her room. Lavender was right: it had been a while since he had been there. He felt guilty about that, but there he was again. What he really felt guilty about was making her worry.

“Everythin’s nicer when you’re with me,” Seamus agreed as he walked over to Lavender. He brought his lips to hers and gave her a quick kiss. He wasn’t sure if he was forgiven enough about it.

Lavender was surprised by the suddenness of the kiss, so much so that she did not respond as well as she would have liked. When he pulled away she looked up at him, nibbling on her bottom lip before she hesitantly brought her hands up to cup his face and brought his lips back to hers.

Lavender leaned back and looked up at him, a small smile on her face. “Well, hopefully it will only be just once,”she said softly, pulling away and looking around the hall once more. She came here often, sometimes out of need for herself, and other times it would be by accident, letting her feet guide her. Today though, she was ready to be away from this place.

“Yes I’m ready, I don’t always like lingering here,”she said softly, taking his hand in hers and leading them back towards the dormitory. “It’s good to see the burns have healed on you, I was worried.”

“I’m sorry about that, Lav, I am.” Seamus said, hanging his head slightly as they walked along. It was good to have his hand in hers again. He missed the feeling of it. “Charlie said it’s going to happen at least once. It’s good I got it out of the way now, I s’pose.”

He ran a hand over his head again, his fingers trailing where the burns had been. His hair had grown back fine once he’d healed up. St. Mungos did a brilliant job.
For a while though he dealt with people snickering at his again for it. He didn’t mind so much now. He was one of a few people in the school who’d ever dealt with a dragon so if they’d really bother him he’d call them on that.

“It doesn’t do to be worried, Lav.”

Lavender yelped in surprise as he pulled her into his arms, not expecting him to do that. After a few moments she relaxed and leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder and breathing in his smoky scent. Her arms tightened around him as he squeezed her and she sighed in content, happy to be in his arms again despite their troubles. “I do not want your mother to think bad of me,”she said softly as she stood there with him. “I always thought we would get married after school is over and we start our lives, not right now. I just want her to know that.”

She placed a light kiss on his jaw and held him a little tighter, not wanting him to leave her again. “Will you…will you stay with me tonight?”she asked hesitantly, not sure what his answer would be. He had not stayed with her since he had been put in the hospital, always some excuse keeping him away. She had missed those nights together, just knowing he was there with her.

“Me mam thinks bad of everyone at least once,” Seamus answered, not bothering to let go of Lavender, instead keeping his arms around her and his resting against her. “And of course I’ll stay.”

His mind was almost alright here, in this place. He was very relieved that they never made it further down the hall. He knew it was selfish but he didn’t feel like he would be alright if he was there. He couldn’t even walk it to classes. Memories started shooting back and nothing was able to distract them. They would shoot through him and it was as if he was there all over again.

“Like to head back now?” Seamus asked. He could do with a night with her more than he would admit.

Lavender leaned back and looked up at him, a small smile on her face. “Well, hopefully it will only be just once,”she said softly, pulling away and looking around the hall once more. Lavender stopped and turned around to face him, staying silent and just looking at him for a few moments. His shirt was disheveled and his tie was askew, his sandy hair falling into his eyes as he stood there sheepishly looking at her. She knew that what they were going through now wasn’t easy for him and she nibbled her bottom lip. She wanted to reach out and straighten his tie and brush his hair away, but it had been so long that she didn’t know what to do, not sure if he would react differently.

“I suppose I should wait on getting my dress then,”she said with a weak smile, shifting her feet awkwardly. She finally made up her mind and stepped forward hesitantly, her hands reaching up to gently straighten his tie and then brush his hair away before stepping back. “I have missed you,”she said softly after a few moments.

Seamus laughed, a grin pulling across his face. He pulled Lavender into his arms. He knew he shouldn’t be surprised that Lavender was already looking for a dress. They’d talked about getting settled and living together first but Lavender was already thinking about the dress and probably the whole arrangement. The most Seamus had thought about the actual day was that he would have to have a regular tie and that his mother would either yell or cry.

“I’ve missed you too, Lav.” Seamus answered, giving her a light squeeze.

Lavender yelped in surprise as he pulled her into his arms, not expecting him to do that. After a few moments she relaxed and leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder and breathing in his smoky scent. She stayed silent for a few moments as she thought about his question, not exactly knowing what to tell him. Lavender loved her parents, they meant everything to her, but she had spent many a long time by herself, making her own decisions because there wasn’t anyone to make the decisions for her. She knew that it would be painful to hear that from her father, and she knew that she wouldn’t ignore it….and perhaps if she hadn’t been attacked and that they weren’t going through a war at the time she would have she would have let that affect her more. Her life was completely different now.

“It…would probably be one of the worst things I could possibly hear him say,”she began, wrapping her arms around her middle. “And I don’t think it would be easy to deal with….but its not his decision to make.” She turned and walked some more down the hall slowly, her thoughts and emotions scattered and she didn’t know how to pick up the pieces. This wasn’t what they were supposed to be talking about, they should have been happily planning what they wanted after school was over. Instead….he was just confusing her.

“What is it that you want Seamus?”

Lavender started walking again and Seamus trailed behind her, his steps slow. The last time he’d been in the hallway he’d been sprinting, now it felt as if his legs were made of lead.

“Lav, I want ta marry you. You know that.” Seamus answered. “Me mam…I just gotta keep talking to her about it. She jus’ thinks that I’m not thinking it through. Like the second I step off the grounds I’ll be in a church or something.”

Lavender stopped and turned around to face him, staying silent and just looking at him for a few moments. I Set Fire to the Rain: Tough Times with Lavender Brown

Lavender looked away from him and started walking again, waiting for him to catch up and feeling a deep sadness start to settle in the pit of her stomach. For once she just wanted something to go right for them, she didn’t think it was too much to ask for. Was there something wrong with her? Did his mother not like her? She thought that things had gone well when she had visited them all those months ago, but perhaps it didn’t.

“I do not know what you want Seamus, and I never meant to cut off your family, I just….” she trailed off with what she was saying, her throat tightening as she tried to hold back the inevitable tears. She didn’t even know what she was saying, and once again she twisted the ring on her finger, feeling like the weight was dragging her down. “I just wanted to be happy is all, after so long. But…if you do not want to…I mean…I guess its up to you about what you want then,”she said softly, a few tears finally falling down her face. She wiped them away and kept her eyes on the hall that the entered, the sight painfully familiar to her.

“Seems my feet always bring me back here whether I want them to or not,”she said as she looked around the hall, walking over and trailing her fingers along the wall where she was held. She turned back around to face him, the expression on her face sad. “I love you more than anything Seamus….I need you to tell me want. I don’t know what to do.”

“Lav, you’re not cutting off my family.” Seamus answered, running a hand over his face. He stopped as Lavender stopped. It took a moment until he realized exactly there they were. It was so clean. He didn’t understand how it could be so clean. It shouldn’t be, not with everything that had happened.

Any urge to yell was stripped from him. Seamus stopped in his tracks. Looking to Lavender as she recounted the time when she really needed him.

“Lavender, what would you do if your father said you couldn’t marry me?” Seamus asked. “Could you just throw that to the side?”

She stayed silent for a few moments as she thought about his question, not exactly knowing what to tell him. Lavender loved her parents, they meant everything to her, but she had spent many a long time by herself, making her own decisions because there wasn’t anyone to make the decisions for her.
